Jim Gordley Named VP of Sales for Advanced Energy

FORT COLLINS, Colorado (May 13, 1998)—Jim Gordley has been named Vice President of Sales for Advanced Energy Industries, Inc. (AE), reporting to Jim Gentilcore, Vice President of Marketing and Sales. In announcing the new appointment, Mr. Gentilcore said, “I’m pleased to have someone with Jim Gordley’s extensive experience in building sales organizations. He has a great feel for the “whole marketing picture” due to early assignments in Marketing at 3M, widely considered as a best-of-breed market-driven company. Jim also brings extensive experience with the Asian market.”

Before joining AE on February 16, 1998, Mr. Gordley worked at 3M Company for 13 years, and for the past 8 years at Semitool Corporation, which shares both AE’s rapid growth and AE’s largest market. Most recently he served as Vice President of Sales for Semitool’s Thermal Products Division.

At AE, Mr. Gordley has direct responsibility for worldwide sales, field applications, and inside sales functions. His primary responsibility will be to increase revenue by continuing to build AE’s sales organization.

Upon joining AE, Mr. Gordley commented, “There are several exciting aspects to my joining AE, including expanding AE’s participation in new applications as well as increasing AE’s participation in European and Asian marketplaces.”

Founded in 1981, AE is a leading supplier of power conversion and control systems for plasma-based thin film production equipment. Our systems are critical to industrial processes that use gaseous plasmas to deposit or etch thin film layers on materials or substrates such as glass, silicon, and metals during the manufacture of semiconductors, data storage media, flat panel displays, and a host of other products.
